Evolve Delayed Until Next Year According to Earnings Release

Take Two Interactives’ Evolve, a game that pits four players as a team of hunters to find and eliminate a goliath-alien manned by the fifth player, has taken a release date bump today according to the company’s official 2015 Earnings Release.

The earnings release document highlights accomplishments made by the company’s previous titles and briefly goes over what they expect to accomplish with the release of future games such as Grand Theft Auto V for PS4, Xbox One and PC, NBA 2K15 and WWE 2K15.

Evolve was also highlighted as another future highly anticipated release. However, Take-Two Interactive approached changing the release date for the multiplayer shooter quite swiftly and without much reason as to why the date switch was chosen.

“[We] announced that Evolve, a new intellectual property for next-gen consoles and PC developed by Turtle Rock Studios, the creators of the cooperative shooter classic, Left 4 Dead, won more than 50 editorial honors at the 2014 Electronic Entertainment Expo, including the coveted Game Critics Award top honor for Best of Show.” the release said.

“The title is now planned to launch globally on February 10, 2015.”

The delay could be due to development issues and the rate at which work is being completed, which may have been slowed down since the official E3 2014 announcement. The root reason is anyone’s guess at this point, but the developers at Turtle Rock Studios and 2K Games clearly need more time before releasing a title that promises an impressive and engaging co-op multiplayer experience.

Evolve now joins The Order: 1886, Battlefield: Hardline, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight, The Division and plenty others hopping on the delayed train.
