EA can’t catch a break with being sued from different football organizations.
This time the Publishing giant has been been served with a class action lawsuit over its “unlawful use” of the likenesses of 6,000 retired NFL players in Madden NFL 09.
The plaintiff (ex-NFL running back Tony Davis) claims in the suit, that the use of the likenesses of the players in the game was “knowingly and intentionally” used in such a way by EA Sports that they were able to avoid paying license fees in using them.
EA has used other methods as well (as stated in the suit, which you can read here). EA has refused comment to IGN when contacted on the situation.
