It is that wonderful time of year, E3, aka “Video Game Christmas.” As is tradition with every E3 comes our favorite event, E3 Leaks. Whether Amazon listing, Walmart Canada product page, or just data miners doing their thing, the fever is at an all time high when E3 is upon us. Here are the biggest leaks leading up to E3 2019.
One of the biggest leaks the internet started going crazy about was the rumor of Mr. Game of Thrones himself, George R.R. Martin, collaborating with From Software to create a new game called, Elden Ring. The idea that the man behind A Song of Ice and Fire and developers of the Dark Souls Trilogy, Sekiro, and Bloodborne are working on something together is incredibly enticing.
As if that leak doesn’t have us hyped enough, a possible Remaster of beloved RPG from the PlayStation 3 era, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, could be on its way to PlayStation 4 this fall. Let us pray to the video game gods that they also release it on the Nintendo Switch because everything should be on Switch!
If Bandai Namco’s day couldn’t get any worse, there are also leaked images of a new Tales game making its rounds on the internet. Tales of Arise (odd name but okay) screenshots have been seen all over giving us a glimpse of a new silver-haired hero wearing some dope armor and fighting a beast that could be from Monster Hunter. The platforms have not been confirmed yet but one can assume with will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Last E3 we got the announcement from Xbox that they acquired Ninja Theory, developers of Hellblade and DmC: Devil May Cry, and we have been dying to see what they create for Microsoft. So much so that those crafty data miners got their hands on the name Bleeding Edge. Rumor has it that this is a 4v4 multiplayer brawler, which in my opinion is not what I expected or wanted from Ninja Theory, but I’ll revise my thoughts after the official reveal.
Not too long ago, Japan had a chance to experience a cloud based version of Resident Evil 7 on the Nintendo Switch. We didn’t really hear too much about it after it was initially announced but it seems to have gone well considering the rumor of The Witcher 3 possibly making its appearance on this service. The rumor seems more real when the voice actor behind Geralt of Rivia tweeted a tease of a supposed Switch version.
One of my favorite developers, Larian, has been teasing a new RPG with an image that gives off a familiar style. Most believed it was Baldur’s Gate III, and later were able to have that confirmed by the Google Stadia presser where it was officially announced.
Our lovely friends at Amazon UK gave us an early present with a retail listing of a game named, Watch Dogs Legion. The long rumored and expected third installment of the Watch Dogs franchise is set to take place in London and has been officially confirmed by Ubisoft.
A new challenger has entered the arena in the form of E3 Coliseum accidentally listing their Avengers panel. The long awaited reveal of The Avengers game by Crystal Dynamics is finally going to be happen this E3 and some of the details have also been leaked. The game will feature customizable heroes, can be played single-player or multiplayer, includes team power combinations, and an evolving world.
Last but not least, a new Darksiders game, Darksiders Genesis, was leaked and later confirmed. This game is not a sequel to Darksiders 3, but a prequel. The style of game is completely different too, giving us very Diablo-like gameplay and a new character, Strife, also one of the four horsemen.
