E3 2014 | What’s Going on with Konami?

While perusing the plethora of games on the E3 show floor it can be easy to miss out on some titles, but besides Metal Gear Solid 5, Konami didn’t have anything to display in their giant booth space.

MGS5 was behind closed doors which made the whole Konami booth look like a small white building trying to ignore all the games going on around it. In fact there was only a little VIP area that had a small selection of things to play, none of which were upcoming. I wasn’t allowed to take a picture of the games on display there so maybe they were new but it didn’t look like it.

Still, they bought all this space and filled it with nothing. Why do that? Was there something they were going to display that wasn’t ready? I’m guessing that that had to be it. When I think about it, MGS5 and PES are the only bigger games that Konami is working on right now so there must be something.

Otherwise this anemic display could be a sign of bad times at Konami. Seriously look at these pictures I took, there are piles of space here for something great, even just a giant TV playing a trailer but there is nothing. People just started standing around in this large red area because it had nice, cushiony carpet.

Maybe I’m just reading too much into this but something is definitely up with Konami.
