E3 2014 | Skulls Smash In Mortal Kombat X Trailer

There can only be one word that perfectly describes the new Mortal Kombat X gameplay trailer revealed today at Sony’s E3 2014 press conference, and that word is ‘carnage.’

Even fans of Mortal Kombat have never witnessed Sub-Zero and Scorpion duke it out so hard. The 4 minute trailer featured in Sony’s E3 presser showcases characters committing crazy combos and some nifty power moves tailor made for each of them. The bone-bashing, gut-wrenching, heart-crushing, spine-splitting and jaw-breaking fatalities provide more than enough reasons to throw your money at your screen. Mortal Kombat X is filled with carnage and blood-filled mayhem.

These deathmatches are a breath of fresh air considering break-away titles like DC vs. Mortal Kombat and Injustice: Gods Among Us. While those games were violent and painful looking, nothing beats Liu Kang’s shaolin kicks or hearing Scorpion yell “Get over here!” before pulling his opponent from halfway across the stage with his spear pulley.

This exciting and thrilling showing of Mortal Kombat X is arguably the best game that Sony has shown at E3. Not only does it offer hope to those who wanted the revival of the franchise, but it also provides the fighting game community an insight of what’s to come in the future.

There hasn’t been a set date for Mortal Kombat X yet, but you can take a peek at the ass kicking trailer below.
