E3 2013 | Star Trek: TNG Mobile Phone Cases Beam from PowerA Display

If you’re one of the 67 million viewers who tune into syndicated episodes of Star Trek and just happened to be at E3 this year, hopefully you were vigilant enough to catch PowerA’s new Star Trek: TNG range of mobile phone cases.

Displayed at the PowerA booth over the three-day convention, this awesome new lineup is one of the highlights from the Washington-based manufacturer of unique and high quality gaming and mobile accessories. The cases bear the iconic Starfleet uniform logo in Star Trek: TNG’s unmistakable red, blue, and gold colors, and are compatible with the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3s.

PowerA announced the release of these designs a month earlier shortly after introducing a line of Star Wars cases, which are of equal brilliance. Each Star Trek case was offered at E3 for $29.99, and they are also currently available for purchase online. (Don’t let the Star Trek: TNG theme fool you—the lifespan of red shirt-inspired cases is not limited.)

The cases’ exterior consists of molded ABS plastic, embellished with woven fabric and a raised communicator badge. Forthcoming designs inspired by Star Trek: The Original Series will be coming to us later this year. The decision to pay homage to the long running TV series was an easy one, according to PowerA’s President, Eric Bensussen:

The Star Trek universe is revered by fans around the world. We were able to get creative with these Star Trek mobile cases, and now fans can be proud and show off their passion for the franchise by taking it with them wherever they boldly go.
