E3 2012 | A Final Fantasy Realtime Tech Demo

Back in 2005, we saw a tech demo that showed off the opening to Final Fantasy VII. In 2012, SquareEnix does it again with a Final Fantasy realtime tech demo called Agni’s Philosophy.

The purpose of this tech demo is to demonstrate what SquareEnix can do for the next generation with the LUMINOUS STUDIO engine. It can combine pre-rendered computer graphics with real time computer graphics and the final product is simply amazing. SquareEnix plans to use this engine with next generation systems, PC, the Internet and smart phones.

While watching the video, you can notice two different types of worlds as one. We once again have magic mixed in with technology. Agni is our hero in this video and perhaps in a future Final Fantasy game. There’s also a crystal and what appears to be a summon.
