The demand and great success of the Doctor Who: Adventure Games that were released earlier this year was such a great hit, BBC is planning on doing another set of games for 2011.
1.6 million have already downloaded these games in the UK alone. Unfortunately, even though it was free to download in the UK, here in the states we had to pay to play them. No word yet if this will happen next year.
Sumo Digital is the head devolper on this project and uses the voice talents of Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, who are the stars of the show.
“…it’s not just about the numbers; the feedback we’ve had has been overwhelmingly positive. Our audience has been introduced to a new form of drama – and, for many, these have been the first computer games they have downloaded. We’ve set new standards in audience participation – and we think we’ve really helped push the concept of families actively playing together. I can’t wait to see what the team does next.” – Simon Nelson, who is the head of multiplatform at BBC
