Activision has announced that the sequel to their newest buy-an-expensive-plastic-peripheral franchise will be released this fall. DJ Hero 2 will feature over 90 different artists and new social multiplayer modes. In addition, the new game will feature dual-turntable and microphone support along with renown DJ Deadmou5 (real name: Joel Zimmerman) lending his likeness as a playable character.
To get people back into spinning on the ones and twos, a new mashup has been released for the original DJ Hero on Xbox Live and Playstation Network featuring Deadmau5’s Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff and Lady Gaga’s Just Dance. Act fast if you’re interested though, it’s only free until June 14.
DJ Hero 2 will be released in three different ways: the game disc without peripherals; a single turntable with the game disc (a la DJ Hero 1); and two turntables, a microphone, and the game disc, perfect for people new to the series that want the full “social multiplayer” experience. The game will be released on the Playstation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360.
