Destiny's The Dark Below Expansion Gets Previewed

Destiny fans have been asking for one thing and one thing only since launch: more. Bungie has heard you loud and clear. The Dark Below is going to add more gameplay.

New crucible maps, a new strike, a new raid, new weapons, new gear, and an all-new character. Watch as Bungie goes over the full details in the video below.

Destiny The Dark Below Preview

Is this enough, though? The Dark Below will cost you $19.99. It’s also a part of a DLC bundle for $34.99. Are a handful of new experiences and a bunch of new gear worth your hard earned money? It all depends on how the first expansion plays out. The promise of integration of story and strike seem interesting, but considering how often I replayed the same strikes over and over again, this could end up being an absolute disaster long term. Part of the joy that came from playing Destiny was the incredibly solid gameplay. The proper release didn’t really do much in terms of storytelling, so we’ll see if The Dark Below can change that.

The Dark Below, Expansion One for Destiny, will be available on December 9th.
