According to analyst Doug Cruetz of Cowen Research, Bungie’s Destiny could be the biggest game of the year. It is expected to sell between 10-15 million copies. Cruetz shares that Destiny could even outsell the newest addition to the massively popular franchise, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Although there is a few months difference in release dates between the two, it’ll be interesting to see if Destiny can take the crown from the king.
Rounding off the top five are Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in fourth place and Far Cry 4 in fifth place. Cruetz also shares that Battlefield: Hardline might not to so well as pre-order sales aren’t anywhere near what Battlefield 3 and 4 had. In second and third place are Bungie’s former series Halo, with 343 Industries’ Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Assassin’s Creed Unity.
With nostalgia hitting many gamers with The Master Chief Collection, along with introducing new gamers to the franchise, it will be interesting to see if it can come close or even beat Destiny. Source
