Dark Cloud 2 is coming to the PlayStation 4 on January 19th by the way of PS2 emulation. The release on the PlayStation 4 was announced on the newest episode of the PlayStation Blogcast.
The Dark Cloud series deals in action-RPG fun with the second game being originally released in 2002 in Japan and 2003 in western territories. In Dark Cloud 2, the game follows a couple of kids that battle their way through a series of dungeons in order to keep an evil emperor from ruining the world.
The second Dark Cloud’s release is a welcomed addition to the PlayStation 4. Sony announced PS2 emulation for the PlayStation 4 last month and the original Dark Cloud was one of the first titles to be released for Sony’s newest console. The PlayStation 2 Grand Theft Auto titles, Rogue Galaxy, The Mark of Kri, and Twisted Metal Black are all part of that migrating library as well.
Sony has been adding new games to this list and will continue to do so in the future beyond Dark Cloud 2. The PlayStation 2 has a very large and robust library so it will be great to see what’s next in store for PS2 emulation on the PlayStation 4.
