Crystal Dynamics Releases Episode 5 of Tomb Raider Documentary Series

Crystal Dynamics has launched the fifth and final episode in its Tomb Raider series of behind-the-scenes documentaries known as The Final Hours. The episode, titled “The Final Hours of Tomb Raider: The End of the Beginning” will be released as a two-part segment — with Part I being released yesterday.

In Pt. 1 of The Final Hours, Crystal Dynamics gives us an in-house glimpse of the game in its final stage of production — four days until the completion deadline. As expected, the video provides a mashup of various gameplay segments, conveying the variety of gamemplay mechanics, environments, and challeneges.

Have a look for yourself right here.

Crystal Dynamics has not announced a release date for Part II, but, judging by the time elapsed between previous videos, it looks like we’ll see the last of The Final Hours very close to the game’s March 5 launch on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Tomb Raider‘s return to the gaming limelight marks a three year absence for Lara Croft, who last appeared in 2010’s non-Tomb-Raider-branded Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The last game to make use of the Tomb Raider license was 2008’s Tomb Raider: Underworld, which was met with decent reviews.

The Lara Croft reboot will mark the first time a Tomb Raider game has been rated M by the ESRB.
