The hugely popular Crysis 2 has recently shipped 3 million copies since it’s release in March, increasing from 2 million copies in the last quarter. Crysis 2 isn’t the only game that making the pockets of the EA bosses bulge with cash. There have also been 15 million FIFA 11 shipments, and 9 million Battlefield Bad Company 2 shipments.
Electronic Arts have even more reason to celebrate, after digital sales increased by 11% to $209 million since the last quarter. CEO John Riccitiello stated;
“This was another solid quarter driven by both digital and packaged goods”
John clearly won’t be happy that ‘Shadow of the Damned’ only managed to sell 24,000 copies, on both PS3 and XBOX 360. At least he has Crysis, FIFA and Battlefield to fall back on, so I’m sure he won’t lose any sleep.
