Creator Owned Heroes Anthology Debuts in June

Coming this June is a new publishing philosophy that will focus on various creators original ideas and content. Moving away from the standard “properties” done by companies. Thus Creator Owned Heroes was born. Featured in this new monthly anthology from Image Comics are two new titles edited by Jimmy Palmiotti. American Muscle and Triggergirl 6.

In American Muscle we are presented with a post-apocalyptic America where a group of rebels break off from the last existing stronghold in search of something more. What they find is something they never fathomed… Written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and drawn by Kevin Mellon (HEART).

The second title, Triggergirl 6, is set in a very different kind of future. Where women can be created to be perfect killers and are released to wreak havoc upon the world. Written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Grey (Jonah Hex) with the art done by Phil Noto (Avengers: The Origin).

Also included in this comic book are interviews with Neil Gaiman and cosplaying done by Juli and Alex Abene, who created a new cosplay based upon the Triggergirl 6 comic.

This is a great way to read up on some entirely new ideas and be introduced to an entire new world. As a fan of the post-apocalyptic genre, I will be sure to check this out. For 4 dollars you really cant go wrong. I am intrigued to as where these stories will go and what kind of plot we will be given. Who knows, maybe we will be lucky enough for even more continuation of either of these two stories. I look forward to what the future holds, even if it is killer assassin women.

Creator Owned Heroes #1 will be available in stores June 6th or you are able to pre-order it right now from the April issue of Previews. The first issue will span 40 full-color pages for only $3.99.
