I kept checking to see if perhaps everyone made a typo-o about Civilization IV being nominated for a Grammy. Isn’t Civ V already out and the theme music to that is pretty amazing as well. Civ IV has been out on the scene for about five years now, so why nominate something that, even though still loved by many, that has been out for a while? This is because over these past five years, the Civ IV score has been performed by Video Games Live and is played all over within the pro choir circuit.
This is the first piece composed for a video game to be nominated for a Grammy. Could this mean that future scores might be up for nomination in the future and have a chance to win a Grammy?
Christopher Tin’s Baba Yetu (feat. Soweto Gospel Choir) from Civilization IV is the piece that is up for the award, which will be held on February 13th. Best of luck to him.
