CES 2014 | Origin PC Reveals Customizable Desktop Cases

At the Computer Electronics Show (CES) on Tuesday, custom PC company Origin PC revealed two redesigned entries to its customizable desktop tower series. The Millennium, which can transform from a half-tower case to a full-tower, is designed for interchangeability. The Genesis is a full tower that offers a more robust suite of features, including customizable LED lighting and space for up to 34 hard drives. Both designs come in “pro” models that are advertised as “workstation” computers rather than gaming ones.

Both the Millennium and Genesis cases use a technology Origin PC calls “variable mounting,” which essentially allows buyers to choose between four different motherboard orientations. This way, consumers can decide which direction their motherboard faces before purchasing, depending on office orientation. If the only space available for your tower is a tight corner, just select a vertical motherboard so that airflow is directed upwards instead of at the wall.

The Millennium desktop tower starts at around $1,600, and the Genesis starts at $1,800. Both towers come in either red, black, or white, with additional metallic colors available for an extra $50.
