In Case You Missed It – Week of October 31 – November 6, 2016

Well, this week’s In Case You Missed It took a little while longer to make. See, there was a Blizzard that buried a lot of stories, so I had to bundle up and get to shoveling. Without any further ado, here are a handful of news stories that you might have missed.

In Case You Missed the Pun…

Blizzcon. I was talking about Blizzcon. See, Blizzard had their annual fan convention last week, so a lot of the Internet exploded. The new Overwatch character Sombra was announced, there was something about Diablo, and many more things that we here at the Game Fanatics did manage to cover. Now that the Ragnaros in the Room has been acknowledged, let’s move on to some other news.

In Case You Missed Old School Zombie Carnage…

Turtle Rock Studios has you covered. Last week, the developer decided to post an unfinished campaign for the original Left 4 Dead. The “Dam It” campaign does have some notable issues with coding and textures, but it can be downloaded and played through with relatively few issues. The general concept behind the campaign was to provide ample reason for the adventuring survivors to split up into smaller groups. It certainly sounds like fun, even if Halloween has passed.

"Dam!" "Language, good sir!" "No, d#$% it, I said DAM!"

In Case You Missed Having People to Play Battleborn With…

Mark your calendar for November 12th. Battleborn has, sadly, been drowned in the shadow of Overwatch in the genre of “colorful shooter with a wide cast of characters,” but there are still many ardent fans of Gearbox’s outing. In fact, many fans are planning on making November 12th “Battleborn Day” to promote the game and bring in new players. Apparently, one of the creative directors heard about it and has promised to “sweeten the deal.” I’d say it’s worth checking out!

In Case You Missed The Real Horror of Halloween…

Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a live-action/CGI hybrid film in 2018. Before you grab your pitchforks, there is light to be found in this darkness. The director of Deadpool, Tim Miller, is set to help write the script. Yes, that Deadpool director will soon be writing the words that come out of the speedy blue hedgehog. Now, say it with me, “please be good, please be good, please be good, please be good, please be good…”

I don't know why we are getting another Sonic movie. We have this one!... Oh, wait.
I don’t know why we are getting another Sonic movie. We have this one!… Oh, wait.

That will have to do it for this week’s In Case You Missed It. Again, all eyes were set on Blizzard this week, and a lot of us here at the Game Fanatics were on point for that. It certainly makes my job a little harder, but that’s the real purpose of ICYMI. I pick up the pieces that are left behind. This week, we got most of them. If you would, please let my fellow writers know below how great a job they are doing. If you know of a way we can improve, that works, too.

As always, I’ll see you all again next week. You know, just In Case You Missed It!
