Capcom Removing Two Marvel vs. Capcom Titles from PSN and XBLA

A recent blog post on has revealed that Capcom has plans to remove two Marvel vs. Capcom games from PSN and XBLA.Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 are the two titles being delisted. They will be removed within the next two weeks. In addition, the DLC content for these titles will also be removed.

The last days DLC for these titles will be available are:

–          12/17 for PSN in North America

–          12/19 for PSN in Europe

–          12/26 for XBLA globally

If players are on the fence about snagging these titles before they’re gone forever, it should be noted that they’ve been marked down by half their original price until they’re removed indefinitely. The XBLA versions aren’t currently discounted. They will be marked down at a later date.

Capcom has not commented on why they’ve decided to make this move, but it is speculated that it could possibly have something to do with licensing issues between the publisher and Marvel Comics. Currently, there is no information that can confirm that theory at this time.

Whatever the issue or decision may be, it doesn’t seem to be affecting Marvel vs Capcom Origins. That title appears to be safe for now.
