You Can Watch The Game Awards 2016 Live In VR

Holiday season is right around the corner, and with the holidays fast approaching it means we start talking about The Keighley Awards. Also known as The Game Awards, by some, not by me. This year’s Keighley’s are going to be happening December 1st from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

This year’s The Game Awards will be streamed through a variety of platforms including Twitch, Xbox Live, Twitter, Facebook Live, and if you live in China you can watch it on QQ.com. Geoff Keighley came out to announce that this year’s Game Awards are also going to be streaming in VR through VR Next.

“Video games have the power to unite communities from all over the world, and this year we will share the power of gaming with more people than ever before,” said Keighley. “For 2016 we will expand our all-digital, no-friction path to global distribution through partnerships that include the first live awards show broadcast on Twitter, an initiative with Tencent to bring The Game Awards live to China, and our innovative, first-of-its-kind live VR broadcast with Next VR.”

Now, one of the cool thing that followed The Game Awards last year was the “Game Awards Sale” that subsequently towed in line with the actual awards show. That’s making a come back on Steam, Xbox, and PSN. It always helps save me some money. Especially since there’s all these great games coming out right now.

Now, there hasn’t been any announcements regarding what’s been nominated, but if you live in the Southern California area you can buy tickets now for the show over at AXS.com. I for one plan on making a go for it this year. Seems like it can be fun.
