One of the most anticipated features being added to the Call of Duty series is the debut of Call of Duty: Elite. The invite only BETA has gone live for Xbox 360 users. Don’t worry, there still is the chance that you can get in on some BETA action for Elite. Activision announced that they are releasing the BETA in phases and that more invites will still be given out during the different phases. Elite is planned to go live and launch with the newest installment of the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare 3 on November 8, 2011.
What is Call of Duty: Elite you ask? It is an innovative social community for Call of Duty fans to connect with each other with various different features that will enhance their gaming experience.

Connect: Players can now control their multiplayer experience to their personal liking. This creates a social gaming platform that has not been seen before. Players will have the ability to compete against their friends, players of the same level and interest, other groups and clans, or play against other players in an organized competition. Your performance can be tracked on your personal network in the game or on app that will be available to most smart phones.
Compete: Organized competitions and events are available for all players with different skill levels. In-game and real world prizes are awarded when this service goes live in November 2011.
Improve: Your performance and statistics are saved, tracked, and shared in this community. Tools will be available to help compare and give insight on possible problematic areas. This will be available to share and compare to any player in the whole community.
Members of Call of Duty: Elite that go premium will receive content to download for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This downloadable content will feature new maps to themes. Make sure you go premium!
