Black Ops 2 released last night, ending a long wait for many gamers. However, it looks like many PC gamers never made it past the game install.Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has finally released, though it isn’t going exactly as some had planned. The second disc on many copies of the PC version somehow had the Electronic Arts title, Mass Effect 2, imaged on the second disc instead.
For the time being, there seems to be some workaround to the issue, allowing players to fully install their copy of Black Ops 2 on their PC machines. If you add your copy of Black Ops 2 to your Steam game library by entering the serial key under the ‘Add Game’ feature, you should be tossing frags and filling enemies up with lead in no time.
Since the problem likely stems from the facilities used to manufacture the discs, we’ll have to wait and see how Activision responds to the issue. This might also be more of an incentive for publishers to switch to full digital distribution.
