BioWare Announces Dragon Age Keep

If there’s one thing BioWare games are particularly good at, it’s making your choices made in one game carry over to another one. So how will it work for Dragon Age? According to the BioWare blog, it’ll work using something they’re calling Dragon Age Keep. Initially, you’d think it’ll work like it did in the Mass Effect games, where your save file would be read and imported into Dragon Age Inquisition, but it seems that won’t be the case. Instead, you’ll be able to just mold the world the way you see fit, by filling in the story blanks – in fact, similar to how Mass Effect 2 handled things when it launched on the PS3.

It gives newbies to the franchise a great way to jump on and make the game tailor to your choices, as well as giving experienced Dragon Age fans a way to tinker with their worlds without having to go back and replay earlier games in the franchise. The Dragon Age Keep will be cloud-based, as BioWare says it’ll make it easier to move your world to other platforms (say from PS3 to Xbox One, Xbox 360 to PC, whatever), as well as protecting your files should your console or PC have issues.

They’re also working on a physical save file import system, but at the moment there’s little info.
