My God. How far we’ve come in nearly 7 years.
In an itch to tinker with the Unreal Engine 4, Youtuber and indie game developer nooldespagoodle gathered original BioShock assets and dropped them into the modern graphical world of gaming.
The quick approach, though not as intricate as dragging and dropping, resulted in a stunning update of the instantly recognizable world of Rapture. The short video provides a tour of the dystopia complete with its signature rusted metals, dripping water, and warm art deco lighting in an updated fashion. The visual improvements truly add new life to the underwater metropolis.
Can we expect the next installment from 2K Games to be this beautiful? Potentially. But it will be quite some time before the next in the BioShock series is announced.
Let us know in the comments below what you think of Rapture on the Unreal Engine 4 and what you expect from future games in the series.
