Doug Creutz of Cowen Research has predicted that Battlefield Hardline won’t sell well or near what Battlefield 3 and 4 have sold in the past.
EA‘s popular shooter is taking a new direction with Hardline, as the game will be a cops-and-robbers version of the Battlefield franchise. This could be the reason for the game to not do as well as its predecessors, as the change in direction may not be well received. If Battlefield Hardline doesn’t do so well, it may cause EA to keep with the traditional gameplay elements of Battlefield.
Although Battlefield is taking a change in direction in their next installment in the series, Call of Duty is following the same path, as the franchise is going a more futuristic route in their next installment. This may have caused Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare to not be at the top of pre-order sales as well.
