You heard that right folks! One of EA‘s hit games, Battlefield: Bad Company is headed to Fox in an hour long action comedy for our viewing pleasure.
Based on EA‘s bestselling video game from Alias alum John Eisendrath, Sony TV and studio-based Happy Madison.
Written by Eisendrath, Bad Company features the main characters from the game. It follows four renegade soldiers as they exit military life and enter the private sector. But trouble is never far behind as they realize their commanding officer had used them to further the ends of a shadow unit within the government and now wants them dead to cover his tracks. Eisendrath is executive producing with Happy Madison’s Doug Robinson and EA‘s Patrick Bach and Patrick O’Brien.
Seems interesting enough. However, I’m definitely going to keep an eye out on this one and catch it once it goes live. We’ve seen plenty of videogame to film adaptations go wrong. Let’s see if they can pull this one off and stay true to the action and comedy we’ve been known to see throughout the Bad Company games. The game received mostly positive reviews from critics so hopefully they take certain things into consideration. Only time will tell.
