Battlefield 5 To Debut This Friday

DICE plans to unveil their new Battlefield title on May 6th as a special “world premier” event. Come Friday, we will be able to see what awaits us for Battlefield’s next installment.

For those of whom are attending the event, Battlefield 5 is going to be revealed for them before the event begins its livestream. The livestream will start at 1pm PT/4pm ET/9pm BST. EA has launched an event countdown site leading up to the unveiling of “a first look at the future of Battlefront.”

Early reports of Battlefield 5 seem to suggest that the next game’s settings will return once again to the World War I era. As of this moment, the World War I setting is speculation and hearsay but the possibility certainly does exist.

“The future of Battlefield is coming up and you are invited to the world premiere,” it reads. “On May 6, we will reveal the next milestone in the Battlefield franchise. Come and meet our creative team at DICE.”

Back in October 2014, Gamespot helped bring to light that EA officially confirmed Battlefield 5 would arrive during the holiday time in 2016. Chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen when on further to say Battlefield 5 would follow behind Star Wars Battlefront, leading EA to have alternate first-person shooters in their core lineup.

“What we’ve said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles,” he replied. “This year it’s Star Wars: Battlefront. Next year, it’s another Battlefield title.”

In addition, EA has big plans for the DLC of their previous Battlefield installments, which would be Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline. Over the course of the next few months, EA plans to give away previously released DLC content on all consoles/platforms for free. This means Xbox One, Xbox 360, Origin (PC), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3.

So from today to May 10th, players can download Battlefield 4’s Dragon’s Teeth expansion for absolutely free. This DLC contains four urban maps, a new game mode called Chain Link, new gadget called “The R.A.W.R” and a community mission to obtain 2.5 million melee kills for a gold battlepack.
