The Banner Saga Continues in a Sequel to the Indie Hit

Indie dev Stoic have announced a sequel to The Banner Saga, unsurprisingly called The Banner Saga 2.

Viking-themed and full of tactical turn-based action, the first game carved its way to success by also having a branching story with meaningful choices and multiple endings.

Publisher Versus Evil had this to say about the series “There’s a seismic shift in the video game industry as consumers embrace the contributions and creations of independent game-makers such as Stoic, the incredibly passionate creators of The Banner Saga and The Banner Saga 2,”

An announcement trailer has been released and while it doesn’t reveal anything about the gameplay, it promises to have you making painful choices and fighting to survive.

It will continue the story of the first game and promises to once again have a cast of compelling characters. A fitting attribute of the series, considering the three members of the Stoic development team were previously working for BioWare, the developers of Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

The Banner Saga 2 is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2015.
