Bandai Namco Will Announce New IP at Gamescom 2016

Bandai Namco

At the upcoming Gamescom 2016, Bandai Namco Europe has confirmed that it will not only display some existing games, but announce a new IP.

The company confirmed in a news release that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Tekken 7 will be available for the public to play – the latter in particular will be of interest to fighting fans as Tekken won’t be released until 2017.

Curiously, there has also been confirmation that a new IP will be shown off – one that Bandai Namco have said is “for a Western Audience.” There aren’t any more details on this however, so consider our interest peaked.

One of Bandai Namco’s biggest games is Dark  Souls III, and From Software have recently confirmed that they are working on a new IP – something which is sure to send Souls devotees into a frenzy. Though there isn’t anything at this time to connect the two separate announcements, the rumblings are there, and the rumblings are exciting.

Gamescom 2016 is a week-long event; it will be running from August 18th – 24th in Germany, and we will keep you up-to-date with any further announcements from there.
