Another month coming to an end and we all know what that means: free games with those gaming subscriptions. Microsoft has unveiled their free offering for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 with the Games With Gold program.
In the month of August, players will gain access to four titles — two on the Xbox One and two for Xbox 360. Oh, and those two games offered on Xbox 360? They can also be played on Xbox One through Microsoft’s backwards compatible initiative.
Available throughout the whole month of August is Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, which runs at a retail price of $59.99. Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate, which came out in 2014 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, is the updated version of Warriors Orochi 3. Developed by Omega Force and published by Tecmo Koei, this game is a purely button-mashing experience. Hacking and slashing through countless foes, players can lose themselves in the mindless fun this game provides.
Next up on Xbox One is WWE 2K16, which costs about $39.99. This title will be available from August 15th to September 15th. Developed by Yuke’s/Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports, this game is pretty self-explanatory with what’s about to go down. The roster for WWE 2K16 includes the “largest roster in the game’s history,” with over 120 different wrestlers to choose from. The actual count would be 133 wrestlers on the base game and 165 if one were to purchase all the DLC characters. This one is for the major wrestling fans out there.
Moving onto the Xbox 360 titles (also playable on Xbox One via BC), Spelunky is available to download from August 1st to 15th. Developed and published by Mossmouth, Spelunky originally came out in 2008 on PC but was then remade for the Xbox 360 in 2012. It then later made itself way onto other consoles in the years to come. Players will explore caves and hunt for treasure while avoiding traps in procedurally-generated levels
Last but not least, the award winning Beyond Good and Evil shall be available to the people from August 16th to the 31st. Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier/Ubisoft Milan and published by Ubisoft, Beyond Good and Evil received outstanding praise from reviewers and the people. An action-adventure game that has traces of puzzle and stealth elements, people seemed to fall in love with this title. The game originally came out on the sixth generation consoles but was later given the HD update for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
And that’s it! August’s Xbox Games With Gold lineup offers something for everyone and of course, the games are free with an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Happy gaming!
