Ariana Grande, whose third album Dangerous Woman got a Grammy nomination last year, will be a character in Final Fantasy Brave Exivus.
The pop star posted some photos as well as a video on her Instagram showcasing aspects of the development process for adding her character–namely the addition of the latex bunny from her Dangerous Woman album cover–to the game. Other than these, the specifics have been quite sparse, with no word on exactly why the vocalist is being transformed into a character for Brave Exivus.
Final Fantasy Brave Exivus was released in the US last June but has been out in Japan since 2015. The free-to-play title was developed by Gumi, who also made Brave Frontier and Puzzle Trooper. In it, players go on a classic Final Fantasy (think I – VI) adventure while recruiting familiar characters and heroes from the main series games. Currently, the mobile game has a 4.5-star rating on the iTunes store and a 73 on Metacritic.
While Grande’s role in Final Fantasy Brave Exivus has not been specified, it can be inferred that she will become a playable party member. It is also unknown whether players will have to pay some sort of premium to use her in-game, what sorts of abilities she will have, or any other info.
What do you think about this? Does Ariana Grande fit in Final Fantasy? Is Brave Exivus a fun game? Or is this just a really weird thing that happened because of marketing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
