Uncharted 3‘s multiplayer mode is going to the dogs. Developers Naughty Dog have announced the game’s multiplayer mode – including the Free-to-Play Uncharted 3 Multiplayer – will be getting special animal themed DLC to help raise awareness for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. In addition to the ability to wear a horse, shark, or t-rex head, you also get the opportunity to buy special guns and character shirts based on Pogo and Trumpet, the “official” Naughty Dog… er, dogs.
In addition, winners in Uncharted 3 Multiplayer tournaments will have a chance to win additional costume DLC, such as masks and shirts. Also, every Friday for the month of April is a “Double Cash” event, where players can earn twice as much in-game currency.
All proceeds from the DLC sales will go to the Los Angeles branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. You’ve got until May to pick up the extra content; when it’s gone, it’s gone.
The multiplayer playlists will remain as-is for the time being, at least through May, as Naughty Dog says they’re putting the finishing touches on their latest game, The Last of Us, which was teased in Uncharted 3. As far as we know, the games do not share the same universe.
