During AMD’s CES 2022 press conference, they announced the new RX 6500 XT graphics card. This card aims to be highly efficient and affordable for 1080p gaming at high settings. This is paired with a new AMD software release which increases the performance of many games on the market right now. The RX 6500 XT will allow gamers to play at framerates above 60 frames in games like Halo Infinite, Fortnite, Back for Blood, and more. This will all be available starting at 199 USD. You can get your hands on this starting January 19th, 2022.
AMD also talked about new entries to their CPU lineup for this year. Some of these chips will allow for ultraportable gaming laptops that are able to play games at 1080p without a discrete graphics card. With chip shortages over the last couple of years, hardware and software innovations are going to be popping up that make it easier for consumers to play games. We will have to wait and see if scalpers and resellers are still going to be an issue going forward but this will allow for a lot more options from AMD’s OEM partners.
