Age of Triumph is Destiny’s Final Live Event Before Destiny 2

Age of Triumph

Since its release in 2014, Destiny has been transporting players to an evocative war zone populated by inspiring Guardians. Its developer, Bungie, has been adding all these years to the original game with multiple expansions and surprises. But alas, the time has come to move forward. Destiny is reaching its final destination with Age of Triumph, its last live event. Worry not, for this only means one thing: Destiny 2 is closer than before.

Age of Triumph is revealing on a livestream on March 8 so we should expect to get some juicy bits then. This is the closing chapter to this Sci-Fi shooter but there’s space for more, as Bungie tells us. “We’ll look back upon the three incredible years we’ve shared as a community, and look ahead to some final challenges and rewards that await you in the weeks ahead.” This means surely new obstacles to defeat and some final amazing loot for your Guardians. The live event will then start for everyone on March 22.

From Age of Triumph to Destiny 2

Now, let’s talk about the sequel everyone expects and how the transition will happen. We know that Destiny 2 is happening – but our knowledge stops there. The rumor that Bungie was not transferring any Guardians into the new series started strong last September. With the Age of Triumph announcement, Bungie has reassured us that they are not planning to do this. There’s a handing over – albeit not for all aspects of the original game.

“We know that, just like us, you have grown fond of the Guardians you’ve created, so we do plan to preserve your character personalization,” said Bungie. “[…] Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward.” They will also push for a veteran program, recognizing their Destiny’s accomplishments. Items not included in the transfer are therefore: powers, possession (equipment/items), currencies and Eververse items.

Any Destiny fans in the house? If so, how do you feel about Destiny’s last live event? Are you looking forward to get your hands on Destiny 2? Let us know in the comment section!
