Afterfall: Insanity's Nicolas Games will be Donating to Amnesty International

A few weeks ago, Nicolas Games announced their $1 pre-order sales campaign for Afterfall: Insanity. They stated that if they reached 10 million pre-orders, that they would donated 10% of the money made from the pre-orders to one of the largest charity organizations in the world. If they didn’t reach 10 million, all of the $1 pre-orders would be donated to a charity, but they didn’t say which one. Well, they have finally made the big announcement.

$1 Afterfall:InSanity pre-sale orders will be donated to Amnesty International

“Last week we started taking pre-orders for Afterfall: InSanity and have received absolutely amazing feedback on the campaign. We wanted to do something special with this game. By donating the proceeds from the Afterfall: InSanity $1 pre-order campaign to Amnesty International  we can contribute to the defense of human rights and thus be part of something extraordinary.” said Tomasz Majka, the CEO of Nicolas Games.

The pre-orders campaign is based on a revolutionary offer – video games fans around the world are mobilizing to reach a goal number of ten million pre-orders. If the number of pre-ordered games reaches that goal then 10% of the income will be donated to Amnesty International. Also, anything above ten million will be shared 50/50 between Nicolas Games and AI. Should the pre-sales fall short of the target, then all of the money collected from pre-orders will be donated to Amnesty International, and also the game Afterfall: InSanity will be sold at the price of $33.90 (this price reflects a $1 discount for those who contributed to the pre-order effort). The cooperation with Amnesty International is not the only revelation for gamers as they await the world premiere of Afterfall: InSanity. Nicolas Games has announced that the demo will be released on November 15th. On that day PC gamers everywhere will have an opportunity to experience the post-apocalyptic Afterfall Universe and along with the hero, Albert Tokaj, the game will face the obstacles which await during his escape from the shelter.

“We are extremely curious to hear the gaming community’s initial feedback once they get the demo into their hands. This is a kind of test and shakedown cruise before the official release, and we will be looking forward for first reviews”, said Patryk Hamerlak, the Marketing Director at Nicolas Entertainment Group..

Another piece of exciting news is the decision to give the game’s soundtrack for free to everyone who takes part in the Afterfall: InSanity $1 pre-order campaign. “We decided that gamers who pre-orderAfterfall will receive the soundtrack as a gift, regardless of whether we will reach the ten million mark or not,” Patryk Hamerlak, continued. “This is our way to emphasize that market rules have unfortunately changed. Additional content and add-ons to games used to be free but now they cost much more than a symbolic dollar and those costs are continuously inching upward. We see an opportunity to help change the world, while also giving a quality game experience to players at a reasonable price.”

As of this moment, Nicolas Games are well on their way to 18,000 pre-orders. The way I see it, this campaign was a success the moment the first person donated a dollar. I really hope to see this type of sales campaign more often in the gaming world, and see how much the gaming community can do for a good cause. Afterfall: Insanity is set to release on November 25th, 2011.
