On June 28, 2012, Activision announced a fall 2012 release of Wipeout 3 for the Wii, Xbox 360 Kinect, and 3DS. The game features new characters, obstacle courses, and all the disastrous action players loved about the previous titles.“We want to capture that essence with Wipeout 3 so that kids, parents, and even grandparents can plunge into this easy-to-learn, zany game,” says the Creator and Executive Producer, Matt Kunitz.
Along with new gameplay, fans will find old favorites like Big Balls and Sweeper Arms. In addition, there are 12 new tracks with plenty of new fun and in both Summer and Winter themes. The game features an over-the-shoulder perspective, as well as an Instant Replay function to add to the humor of Wipeout 3 by allowing players to enjoy the more intense (and comical) wipeouts over and over.
Multiplayer is also an option with this new title, as it features split screen and team play, allowing up to four players to compete with each other. There is also an in game shop with extra items and game episodes sure to bring a deep, and hilarious, twist to this new title in the Wipeout series.
