We’ve gotten a time frame on when Ace Attorney Dual Destinies will be released, however North America and Europe might not get a physical copy.
As of right now, Capcom doesn’t have any plans on releasing a physical copy of Ace Attorney Dual Destinies. Capcom believes that downloading the game via the Nintendo eShop is a better way to sell the game than having it available in retail stores.
Historically it’s been tough to attract long term retail support for Ace Attorney titles. With the release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies we wanted as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game for as long as possible. With that in mind we have opted for a digital only release via the Nintendo 3DS eShop. I understand that this decision may upset fans who wanted to have a physical version of the title to add to their collection but we believe this direction is the best to take. – Christian Svensson, Capcom USA Senior VP
Could this help boost Phoenix Wright sales outside of Japan? Is this something that we might see in the future with other game companies? I guess there isn’t a chance to get a collector’s edition of Ace Attorney 5 now, huh? Either way, Ace Attorney Dual Destinies will be available this fall for the Nintendo 3DS.
