Victoria II Gets "Heart of Darkness" Expansion

Paradox Interactive is releasing an expansion for their historical real-time strategy game, Victoria II, entitled “Heart of Darkness.”

Victoria II, an RTS set in the Victorian Age that relies on your political smarts as well as how good you are at managing a navy, will be getting a boost in material soon from developers and publishers Paradox. The company says “Heart of Darkness,” the second expansion for the title, will be released sometime in March and take place during the Scramble for Africa, which was a rush for land and natural resources in the late 19th century.

Some of the expansion’s other features include a new naval system that gives you more details and options during battle, including  ships that fall between ironclads and dreadnoughts and ways to customize where you position guns on the ships; a new colonization system that allows for small problems to escalate into major-scale crises, a newspaper system that lets you track what’s going on instead of having to open the game’s log, and more. A price for the expansion hasn’t been released yet.

Victoria II launched in August 2010 for both PC and Mac to strong reviews. You can pick it up on Steam or at the game’s website.
