2K Games Creative Director Ken Levine has confirmed via Twitter that there will not be multiplayer in the next BioShock game. Replying to a tweet, Levine said in no uncertain terms that multiplayer would not be a part of BioShock Infinite. Such a mode hadn’t been mentioned in the first place, after BioShock 2‘s multiplayer was seen by some as an unnecessary addition to the first-person shooting/adventure experience.
Levine initially answered a direct question with a simple “nope,” but gave a further answer after being pressed that there were literally no plans for multiplayer for Infinite, which may or may not take place in an entirely different universe than the first two games.
BioShock Infinite is expected to hit Xbox 360, PS3, and PC worldwide on February 26th, 2013.
