NBA 2K13 Offers New Gameplay Features to a Fan Favorite

October 2 of this year marks the release of 2K’s new NBA 2K13 for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, with a subsequent release soon for Nintendo’s newest console, the Wii U, and it looks like the game has received more than just a facelift.

For starters, the overall animations appear more fluid now, giving the players more lifelike representations on screen. This is added by developers in hopes of making the game more realistic, adding transitions from shots to motion after, as well as with other actions, to keep the movement more liquid.

NBA 2K13 also offers new positions on both ends of play. This will allow for a more diverse gaming experience, where offensive players have more options of reaching the net, and defensive players can be more creative and successful with causing crucial turnovers.

Player animations have been updated in this newest volume to be more smooth.

One of the most exciting new features though looks to be NBA All Star Weekend, a special addition added for players that pre-order the game or make the purchase on day one. This mode allows gamers to use any NBA star, whether a current player or one from the past, to play in three mini-games, the Rising Star Challenge, the Slam Dunk Contest, and the Three Point Shootout. To add to the fun, these modes will have interesting gameplay variations; the Slam Dunk Contest uses button sequences to pull off dunks, and the player’s performance will dictate how good the shot looks.

In the next few weeks, 2K will be releasing more information about their newest basketball title. In the meantime, though, it looks like this one aims to provide everything fans are looking for, with some new innovations to spice up the mix.
