RUMOR: Sony's 2012 Target is the Casual Gamer

As the PS3 becomes a cheaper console hitting $250 (the original price of the Wii) there’s talks that Sony may pursue the non core or Casual based on Recent comments by SCCE’s Jim Ryan

“on [the] PS1, PS2 the vast majority of the business that we did on both those platforms was done at the sub £129 price points. Now we’ve only got to £199 in the UK a couple of month back so you can see there’s still a lot of PS3’s potentially to be sold”

“I think you’ll see us taking the console more towards a slightly younger demographic. More family market”

However looking at the recent failing of the Playstation Move and rumors of the next generation around the corner can this be true? I can see them trying to market the PS3 as more of an entertainment center to attract family but the casual audience seems like a large stretch. I don’t think core PS3 users shouldn’t be worried.
