The Xbox dashboard is expected to receive its yearly fall update soon, but it’s online counterpart Xbox.com hasn’t seen an update for a while. That is about to change as Microsoft has announced that we can expect to see an update to the Xbox website “in the coming days.” Microsoft has plans to get rid of the old “My Xbox” section in favor of a new “Social” area that lets you keep track of your XBL friends. This new update will work hand in hand with the new dashboard update. Microsoft is also introducing a new “Beacons” feature that helps you find friends to play the same games with.
This new update will also include a revamped video section that lets users buy or rent movies and TV shows for viewing on their console, Windows Phone or Zune. If you use a Windows phone you may be familiar with the new metro look that the website will be receiving. There’s going to be a whole lot of changes coming to the Xbox.com website, so stay tuned for the update in the coming days.
