Best Buy and Gamestop are offering Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Free Bird” and Radiohead’s “Bodysnatchers” for free, to anyone who pre-orders Rocksmith. You’ll have to be quick, as the offer is only available for a limited time. All you have to do is provide a valid email address when pre-ordering the game. To be honest, if you don’t have an email address in this day and age, you don’t deserve to experience the awesomeness which is Rocksmith.
Rocksmith is the first and only game where you actually plug in your guitar, with gameplay that suits a players skill level. This is obviously a good factor, seeing that even many leisurely guitar players won’t even attempt the solo in ‘Free Bird’. And that’s coming from someone who dabbles in the art that is guitar playing.
With an innovative game design that makes reading the music enjoyable, it enables musicians of all skill levels to have a lot of fun. Artists confirmed for the game range from Nirvana to The Rolling Stones, so it seems that a lot of songs everyone wishes they could play will be in the game.
Available on October 18th, the game could prove pretty costly for anyone who doesn’t have a guitar lying around, simply because you need one to play. A lot of gamers nowadays pride themselves on their Guitar Hero Skills. But with Rocksmith on the horizon, it wont be long until the gamers who have mastered the much more realistic Rocksmith will be heartily laughing at the plastic guitar counterparts.
