Upcoming Games June 2017

Upcoming Games June 2017

It’s a new month, and that means it’s time to check out what games are hitting the stores in the following weeks. The list is smaller than previous months, but it offers games that cater to many different tastes. Keep The Town of Light and Dead by Daylight on your radar if horror is your thing, Tekken 7 if you are a fighting maniac, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind if you are game for a solid RPG. Off we go!

Tekken 7

Tekken 7x

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: June 2

The Tekken series, considered by some one of the best fighting sagas of all time, is back with Tekken 7. Originally created as an arcade game in Japan, the 9th installment of the franchise brings all the traditional elements fans have come to love, plus some new gameplay additions.

Story wise, Tekken 7 is said to feature a much darker narrative than previous titles, revolving around the Mishima clan. While playing it, look around for some interesting crossovers: Akuma, a guest star from Street Figthter, is making an appearance here, and quite a big one.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: June 6

June marks a new chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online. The Morrowind expansion not only calls back nostalgic veterans to the world of Tamriel, it also brings tons of fresh new content on its own.

Players can return to the lush island of Vvardenfell, the setting of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, where new perils await. Morrowind brings over 30 hours of playable content, a new PvP mode, a new 12-player Trial, 4v4v4 battles in arena-like environments, and a brand new class. The Warden is the first new class since The Elder Scrolls Online launched in 2014 and is a support-oriented character that utilizes the forces of nature to unleash powerful attacks.

The Town of Light

The Town of Light

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 6

The Town of Light released for PC back in February 2016, and now it’s coming to consoles, ready to plunge you into a dim world of psychiatric hospitals and broken minds.

Inspired by real events and real locations, The Town of Light follows the story of a young girl, Renée, as she tries to piece together the horrors of her past in a mental institution. The game does not need the supernatural nor the gory to make you shiver. It oozes anguish with its depiction of patient abuse and human cruelty. Not an easy experience for the majority, but nevertheless, an interesting pick if you are into these sorts of uncomfortable narratives.

DiRT 4

DiRT 4

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: June 9

DiRT 4 brings the best of the world of rallying back to our gaming stations. Inheriting everything that made the Colin McRae Rally series famous, DiRT 4 proposes high-paced races across the globe, different cars to collect, and a full team management system. Because not everything is about getting your car dirty… you also have to fix it.

This installment also brings a brand new mode, Your Stage, which generates rally stages procedurally based on the player’s preferences.

Dead By Daylight

Dead By Daylight

Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Release Date: June 20

It’s about time that Behaviour and Starbreeze bring Dead by Deadlight to the world of consoles. This survival video game features a twist to your typical slasher formula, making one player become the hunter of the other three in closed area games.

The survivors play in a third-person perspective while the killer’s a first-person one. During the match both factions can use different abilities and items and have different objectives to accomplish. The eerie environments will make your hair stand on end, until competition for victory starts kicking in.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Platforms: PlayStation 4
Release Date: June 30

While not necessarily a new title, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy closes our list of June for obvious reasons. The game is a collection of remasters of the first three titles in the Crash Bandicoot series but, as remastering goes, it also brings novelties to the table: unified checkpoints, pause and save menus, time trials, 4K resolution and overhauled audio. All in all, this is a very nice package for nostalgic gamers, but also for everyone with a soft spot for platformers who never tried original games.

What games are you playing this month, Fanatics? How is your line-up of titles going? Let us know in the comment section down below!
