Middle Earth: Shadow of War is official, and it’s coming to Project Scorpio. Just shortly after the leak containing its box art, Middle Earth: Shadow of War has now been officially announced and with it a brand new trailer giving some insight into the games story.
It was a grand spectacle of a trailer featuring Sauron rebuilding his army for a massive war, one new ring of power to confront your enemies, & the infamous Nazgul. Players will get to go deep behind enemy lines to faceoff against the Dark Lord and his armies. While the trailer was purely CGI, a gameplay reveal is scheduled for March 8th.
The game is confirmed to be releasing August 22nd 2017 and will be coming to Project Scorpio, Microsoft’s contender against Sony’s PS4 Pro.
The previous iteration, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor followed the Ranger Talion and the spirit of Celebrimbor, the maker of the Rings of Power, as they fought for revenge against Sauron’s growing army guarding the black gate of Mordor.
Monolith Studios first take with the series came as a huge success, introducing the award winning Nemesis system giving a great vision for how eliminating different ranks of the dark army and exploiting their weaknesses could shift the tide of war and help you towards victory. The game is a bloody visceral barrage of action and true carnage, a must play for any Lord of the Rings fans.
Xbox Wire let players know that in the coming days Middle Earth: Shadow of War will be available for digital pre-order as well as being included in their Xbox Play Anywhere program, allowing both PC and Xbox players to keep their progress between both devices.
For Tolken lore fanatics, the $300 Mythril Edition comes with a plethora of collectible goodies.
