The Original Dead Rising May be Coming to PS4

Dead Rising

PlayStation 4 owners may well be taking a trip to Willamette, as the first Dead Rising seems to be getting a remake outside of its Xbox home.

There has been a leak online detailing a trophies list for the game. Exophase has released the list, a company that often releases information on new projects well ahead of announcement time. The site has previously accurately detailed the achievements for the Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain remasters for the PS4 as well.

The zombie survival series has had long ties with Microsoft’s Xbox platform – to this date, only Dead Rising 2 has appeared on a Sony console. At E3 last month, Dead Rising 4 was shown only to be a timed exclusive for the Xbox One, and so the franchise is making a return to Sony’s hardware, while keeping close ties with Xbox.

Dead Rising 4, from the looks of it, is a kind of re-imagining of the first Dead Rising game – at least spiritually – or the game’s protagonist Frank West is merely journeying back to the first games setting. Either way, a remaster of the first game for the PS4 move is welcomed, if possibly oddly timed.

Perhaps Capcom is looking to keep its PS4 fans happy this Christmas, giving them this re-release while they work on the conversion of Dead Rising 4 for next year. We will keep our eyes out for an official announcement in the meantime.
