In March of 2011, users will be able to take their Sims to a time and a place never possible before: The Middle Ages.
The Sims Medieval puts users in a fantasy-themed medieval world, essentially transporting the zany Sims gameplay to a new era of history. Earlier today, Electronic Arts released a new trailer giving users an early taste of the title.
While few things can be gleaned from the video, it is clear that EA is going all out to recreate the atmosphere of a lighthearted, but classic fantasy RPG in the title. As a result, jesters, sword fights, sorcery and serfdom all have their place in the upcoming game.
The Sims Medieval is currently set for release in March 2011 for the PC and Mac. The title is not in any way an expansion to the Sims 3, but will instead function as a stand-alone game. Users that pre-order the special edition of the Sims Medieval will receive exclusive content for the game, including a number of clothing and furniture sets.
