Remember that game a while ago that attempted to take the only cool element of the Star Wars prequels and make it into a game? Well, Red Fly Studio will be attempting to revive the Darth Maul Game for the current generation.
This weekend, Dan Borth of Red Fly Studio held a Reddit AMA and spoke about how he wanted to revive the Darth Maul game for the current generation. They were previously producing this title for LucasArts before the studio went under and Red Fly Studio lost all possible funding. However, he has expressed not sadness that the project was originally cancelled but also willingness to pursue new investors for this game.
The game, originally called The Battle of the Sith Lords, would be similar in style to the Force Unleashed but with an updated physics version and much more gore and blood so that players could experience what it really felt like to wield a lightsaber. The narrative would focus mainly on Darth Maul and his story, adding to the already extensive collection of lore based in the Star Wars universe. The game was cancelled some time ago and the developers said there would be little to no chance of ever bringing the game back.
During the Reddit AMA though, Dan Borth noted that he was interested in showing the game off to EA, while also declaring that they would soon have a working demo of the game on the current generation of consoles. Here’s hoping for the best; we can only imagine how great it would be to see the revival of such an epic Star Wars title.
