The Nathan Drake Collection Will Have New Casual, Brutal Modes

The Nathan Drake Collection

The Nathan Drake Collection won’t be a simple port of the majority of Naughty Dog’s best series.

Uncharted fans looking to pick up this trilogy of adventurous romps through set-piece moments and fire fights will have some new modes to check out on PlayStation 4. Each of these new modes seems to be focused on a different part of the gaming spectrum. On the casual end, you have Explorer mode that takes almost all the danger out of Drake’s situations and lets your platform through the story with ease. For the gamer with an eye for photographic moments, a photo mode will be included while speedrunners will have an available mode that compares their clear times with others leaderboard style.

Introduced on the far side of the spectrum from Explorer mode in The Nathan Drake Collection is Brutal difficulty. This mode can only be unlocked after going through that particular game once on Crushing difficulty, making enemies and situations feel that much more tough. 65 skins will be available to purchasers as well with each playable throughout the three main campaigns.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will have these goodies, but will still be minus the online components of the originals. Early adopters – through we’re still not quite sure how early – will be granted access to the Uncharted 4 multilpayer beta. Nathan Drake’s latest romp is scheduled to come out in March of next year, hopefully placing the beta sometime before the end of this year.

The Nathan Drake Collection

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection comes to stores on October 9 for PlayStation 4 alone. Dates for the included Uncharted 4 beta haven’t been announced as of yet, but we’ll be sure to pass along that information.
