In celebration of the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games has announced today that there will be some exclusive cars, weapons, additional storylines and other special perks added to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC version of the game.
For starters, the new versions of Grand Theft Auto V will contain a lot of new events happening around Los Santos and Blaine County, and each of these new events will help unlock new vehicles and weapons. Some of the vehicles that Rockstar Games revealed to the public included the returning Dodo seaplane and the Imponte Duke O’ Death, tough and indestructible muscle car.
While new weapons such as the military Rail Gun and the deadly Hatchet melee weapon were also revealed, another great perk that was confirmed for the Grand Theft Auto V update was the additional Murder Mystery and the Wildlife Photography Challenges.
The Murder Mystery, an added storyline to Grand Theft Auto V, is just what you expect given the name. Playing as Micheal, the father of a brutally dysfunctional family, you set out to uncover a heinous murder using only vague, cryptic clues to point you in the right direction. Successfully solving the mystery grants you some pretty cool visual filters during gameplay and Snapmatic.
If you’ve ever wanted a better look into the wildlife in Los Santos, then the new Wildlife Photography Challenges will put you to work. Scattered across the entire game map are animals just waiting to be cataloged and it’s up to you, as Franklin, to do so. Completion of this mode grants players access to the Kraken Sub. Maybe then, we’ll discover some underwater wildlife as well?
There are plenty of other vehicles and new races to be had in the game, but the amazing takeaway from Rockstar Games’ announcement is that a lot of the progress that the jobs and created characters that people have made in the previous game will be able to transfer over. Content that were included in the previous Special and Collectors Editions of the game will be available in the new version as well.
“If you purchased the Special Edition or the Collector’s Edition last year, when you upgrade to one of the new systems, you will automatically have those items unlocked and accessible,” Rockstar Games said.
“Those in-game bonuses include the Stunt Plane Trials, Bonus Outfits and Tattoos, and the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and melee Hammer all for Story Mode use; as well as the Custom Classic GTA Parent Characters and the high-end Khamelion electric car for GTA Online. Furthermore, if you missed out on your chance to buy a CE or SE the last time around, we will also make all of that content available for all players on PS4, Xbox One and PC to earn and acquire with in-game cash.”
Avid GTA fans rejoice, because the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto V will be hitting shelves on Nov. 18. The PC version hits stores on Jan. 27.
